What you’ll be doing:

Act as the primary health and safety representative for the client, ensuring contractors adhere to H&S regulations and contractual requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain H&S policies and procedures in line with UK regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) Regulations.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Ensure compliance with industry best practices, ISO standards, and environmental health and safety (EHS) frameworks.
Monitor and review contractor safety performance, conducting investigations and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
Provide H&S leadership and support to internal project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Lead accident and incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective measures are implemented.
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and local authorities when required.
Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to project personnel.
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all H&S activities, including risk assessments, audits, and compliance reports.

What experience you'll bring:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in health and safety management within the renewables, construction, or energy sector.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
Chartered Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is highly desirable.
In-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Strong understanding of renewable energy project risks and best practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large-scale wind, solar, or battery storage projects.
Certification in Environmental Management (e.g., IEMA or similar).
First Aid and Fire Safety qualifications.
