About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive SHEQ Manager to join our team and lead the development, implementation, and management of our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality systems across multiple construction projects in the Manchester region.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and driving continuous improvement in SHEQ performance throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures, and systems in line with company and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to SHEQ standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and produce detailed reports with corrective actions.
  • Provide SHEQ training and support to site teams and employees.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting of required documentation.
  • Monitor and analyse SHEQ performance data and prepare regular reports for senior management.
  • Promote best practices and a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (NEBOSH Diploma or similar desirable).
  • Proven experience in a SHEQ role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant UK health & safety and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Membership of IOSH, IEMA, or similar professional bodies.
  • Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
