Location: Port of Nigg, Scotland - Onsite position
Role: HSE focal point for all project-related Health, Safety & Environmental activities.
Reporting to: Project Director
Responsibilities
- Serve as HSE focal point for all project health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Collaborate with Project Manager / Construction Managers to ensure HSSE attendance at key project meetings.
- Liaise regularly with client HSE Representatives to meet HSE requirements.
- Support incident investigations, maintaining records and producing statistics for management.
- Contribute to the site Permit to Work (PTW) system and site access control system.
- Record inspection findings and produce reports with improvement suggestions.
- Manage Corrective & Preventative Actions to ensure effective closure and monitoring.
- Promote HSSE excellence to ensure a safe, compliant workplace.
- Conduct worksite inspections and provide feedback.
- Participate in daily shift briefings and monitor their effectiveness.
- Support online induction processes and conduct on-site inductions if needed.
- Deliver internal HSE training as required.
- Assist in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and sharing lessons learned.
- Advise Project Managers and Supervisors on risk assessments and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Encourage workforce involvement in safety culture and initiatives.
- Promote Europlan and SEI HSSE culture throughout all project phases.
- Foster a culture of personal accountability and safe behaviors.
- Support the development of an environment where personnel can stop unsafe work.
Planning and Reporting
- Support proactive reporting and analysis processes.
- Monitor and report on site performance against Europlan, SEI, and Project HSSE KPIs.
- Report all incidents, near misses, and actions taken.
Skills Required
- Formal training in Environmental Management preferred.
- Industry experience with a trade background preferred.
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems.
- Proficiency in risk assessments (General, COSHH, Fire, Unplanned Events).
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience in delivering training and inductions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to produce and present reports and HSE statistics.
