Information about the Role

To support UK national security, Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) requires an experienced team behind the scenes. As a Health and Safety/Estates Manager, you will be part of this team, handling various building-related issues.

Your role involves ensuring the safety and proper management of CTP buildings. Responsibilities include managing building-related tasks such as locker audits, occupancy monitoring, and acting as a liaison with Met Property Services.

You will handle tasks ranging from accommodation moves to decommissioning, ensuring compliance with policies, SLAs, and high standards. You must interact and negotiate with diverse stakeholders and represent the views of Special Operations (SO) and CTP HQ in discussions related to the Met Estates Strategy and Asset Management plan.

Candidates should have a background in facilities and resource management or similar, with knowledge of business support services, health and safety legislation, and building-related services. Skills in prioritization, expectation management, problem-solving, and credibility are essential. The role involves guiding business decisions, managing H&S in the workplace, and implementing improvements.

Responsibilities

The post holder will:

  • Escalate issues to the local support services (LSS) senior leadership team (SLT) and service providers
  • Represent SO and CTP HQ views on issues such as the Met Estates Strategy and Asset Management plan
  • Support resource and LSS actions from SO and CTP HQ H&S meetings impacting LSS
  • Communicate SO and CTP HQ requirements for Property Services strategic plans, including real estate management
  • Use management information to support building and resource management activities
  • Assist LSS SLT with compliance to standards, SLAs, policies, and procedures
  • Act as a point of contact with Met Property Services for building-related issues
  • Manage building moves, occupancy, decommissioning, decanting, and related matters
  • Review CTP HQ H&S policies and arrangements
