Job summary

Newbury College, Inc. is seeking a part-time Health & Safety Assistant to support daily administration and monitoring of health and safety across the campus in Newbury.

The role reports to the Operations Manager and Facilities Coordinator, helping maintain records and coordinate training to ensure a safe environment for staff, students and visitors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and able to communicate with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with data and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day administration and monitoring of health and safety across the College.
  • Support risk assessments, first aid arrangements, audits, inspections, incidents and compliance monitoring.
  • Liaise with departments across the College to ensure health and safety requirements are met.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Facilities Coordinator, you will help maintain records, monitor compliance activities, coordinate training and support a wide range of health and safety processes that contribute to a safe and positive environment for everyone.This is a varied and rewarding role that combines administration, organisation and practical support. You will assist with risk assessments, first aid arrangements, audits, inspections, incidents and compliance monitoring, while liaising with departments across the College to ensure health and safety requirements are met.
