Dalkia Engineering is looking for a proactive and experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across a major healthcare infrastructure project.

As an HSEQ Advisor, you will be at the heart of delivering critical MEP upgrade works at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of UK HSEQ regulations, with proven experience in MEP or complex construction environments.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is essential.
  • Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) required.
  • SMSTS and a valid CSCS card are desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to risk management and safety compliance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure full compliance with Dalkia’s HSEQ management systems and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, identifying and addressing hazards, unsafe practices, and environmental impacts.
  • Lead and manage high-risk activities including electrical installations, hot works, lifting operations, and confined space entry, ensuring correct permits and control measures are in place.
  • Support and enforce control measures for work at height, fire safety, hazardous materials, and temporary works.
  • Maintain and update risk assessments, method statements, and the project risk register in coordination with the site team.
  • Deliver site inductions and ensure all personnel (including subcontractors) are appropriately trained and competent.
  • Take a lead role in incident investigation and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are shared and implemented.
  • Develop, test, and implement emergency response procedures, including evacuation drills and communication protocols.
  • Facilitate HSEQ coordination meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to ensure alignment across contractors, supervisors, and the client team.
  • Monitor environmental performance on site, including noise, emissions, waste segregation, and water usage, supporting progress toward Net Zero and sustainability targets.
