Job summary

Sustainable Futures Group is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join a large UK housing association's in-house safety team. You will work closely with frontline teams to shape a new operational Health and Safety programme and provide practical guidance on safety improvements.

The role involves engaging operatives, supervisors and managers, delivering coaching, toolbox talks and site inspections across repairs, voids and estates, with a mix of on-site and remote work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Health and Safety experience in multisite operational environments (repairs, maintenance, estates, Hard FM).
• Confidence to coach and influence frontline teams to improve safety.

Looking for a hands on Health and Safety role where you can work closely with frontline teams and help shape a new operational Health & Safety programme?

We're supporting one of the UK's largest Housing Associations in their search for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their growing Health and Safety team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive Health and Safety professional who enjoys being out in the operation, engaging with frontline teams and driving practical safety improvements.

About the Role

You'll support a large in house repairs and maintenance operation, working closely with operatives, supervisors and managers across repairs, voids, disrepair, estates and associated services.

You'll typically spend 3 days a week out across sites and operational teams, with 2 days working remotely, providing practical advice, coaching and assurance while helping shape and embed a new operational Health and Safety programme.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing practical Health and Safety advice to operational teams and managers
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and assurance activity
• Supporting and investigating accidents, incidents and near misses
• Reviewing risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and safe working procedures
• Coaching supervisors and frontline teams on safe working practices
• Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and safety communications

What We're Looking For

• Previous Health and Safety experience within a hands on, multisite operational environment such as - Repairs, Maintenance, Property Services, Estates, Hard FM, Local Authority, NHS or Higher Education for example.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to coach, influence and challenge frontline teams
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
