Qualifications

Positions:

We are seeking multiple Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Advisors to join our team. The role involves advising, supporting, coaching, and mentoring stakeholders to achieve health & safety excellence.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Promote and support SHEQ across the group and divisions/depots.
  • Act as an SHEQ ambassador, encouraging innovative solutions.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and management systems to reduce risks and foster a positive SHEQ culture.
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to plan, review, and achieve SHEQ objectives, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Monitor performance against SHEQ plans, conduct site visits, and provide feedback and solutions for non-conformances.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate planning and engagement workshops with management and operational teams.
  • Assist in preparing RAMS/job packs and briefings, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Support pre-start safety workshops for high-risk work packages.
  • Stop unsafe operations and inform relevant parties immediately.
  • Offer support and advice to operational teams, ensuring remedial actions are implemented promptly.
  • Investigate incidents, communicate findings, and ensure lessons learned are shared.
  • Ensure staff receive appropriate H&S inductions and training.

Qualifications required:

  • National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, Risk, or Quality Management or equivalent
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • IOSH membership or working towards it
  • Experience in a similar role within utilities or infrastructure industries, with extensive safety planning and compliance experience
