Job description

Role: Health & Safety Advisor

Salary: GBP30,000 – GBP35,000

Location: Lacock, Wiltshire

Working Hours: Monday Friday

We are on the lookout for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team based in Lacock, Wiltshire. This is a key role to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety procedures and practices across the organisation; ensuring compliance with current legislation and promoting a safe working environment for all employees.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Health & Safety Manager in the development and implementation of H&S procedures, standard operating procedures and risk assessments in line with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Support incident and accident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety data sheets.
  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in the implementation of behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills, evacuation planning, and first aid response coordination.
  • Support environmental and sustainability initiatives as required by the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging near miss reporting and positive safety behaviours.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in Health & Safety co–ordinator/advisor/admin role
  • Experience within Food Manufacturing (desirable) / FMCG or Manufacturing background (essential)
  • NEBOSH General (or working towards)
  • HACCP
  • Working knowledge of relevant health & safety legislation
  • Microsoft programmes including excel, PowerPoint etc.
