Job Description

Following the retirement of our current Headteacher, the Governors at St John’s Church of England Primary School are seeking to recruit a new Headteacher to lead our successful and thriving school at the heart of its community. St John’s is a popular, one form entry primary school which was inspected by Ofsted and SIAMS in 2025. There is a healthy relationship with other local primary schools and St John the Evangelist Church next door to the school.

  • Be an enthusiastic and inspirational leader who can build on our strengths and achievements and continue to take the school forward through a collective vision.
  • Continue to develop the school’s strong Christian values and ethos and high academic standards.
  • Commit to ensuring that all children are given the best opportunity to flourish at school.
  • Bring a sense of fun, energy and passion for learning, undertaking all aspects of the role with warmth and good humour.
  • Value staff, governors and parents in a collective partnership to lead and inspire all the children and provide a secure foundation for their lives ahead.
