Job summary

Pathway Group seeks a Headteacher for Pathway AcademyZone in Burslem, a new Independent Provision. You will lead every day, from safeguarding to curriculum, and shape the school from the ground up.

Lead registration processes, engage with commissioners and authorities, and build a strong team as the school grows under Pathway Group. This is a rare chance to create a thriving, trauma-informed learning environment for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status with senior leadership experience (Deputy/Assistant Head preferred).
• Experience in Alternative Provision, SEMH, SEND, or settings for at-risk learners.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and familiarity with Ofsted frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school’s curriculum, teaching quality, behaviour, attendance and outcomes for every learner.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and foster safeguarding as a shared responsibility.
• Drive Independent School Standards registration and support Ofsted readiness.
• Grow the school by building relationships with commissioners, local authorities and SENCOs.
• Recruit, develop and retain staff as the school grows.
• Manage occupancy, budgeting and reporting to the proprietor and governors.
