Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in Manchester is seeking a Headteacher to lead a specialist education setting supporting young people with SEMH and SEND needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an established senior or middle leader stepping into their first Headteacher role.

The role requires strong, visible leadership across the school, delivery of the School Improvement Plan, safeguarding excellence and close collaboration with parents, carers, and external agencies.

Qualifications

  • QTS and PGCE/PGDE required.
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience in a primary or secondary school.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing staff performance.
  • Experience contributing to or leading school improvement.
  • Strong experience using data to drive improvement.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, visible and proactive leadership across the school.
  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of the setting.
  • Drive high standards in teaching, learning, behaviour, attendance and safeguarding.
  • Lead the School Improvement Plan and quality assurance framework.

  • Lead inspection preparation and maintain an Ofsted-ready environment.
  • Work closely with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).

Location: Manchester
Salary: £51,773 - £60,145
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:00pm
Contract: Term Time

We are recruiting for a Headteacher to lead a specialist education setting supporting young people with SEMH and SEND needs.

The Role
