Job Description
  1. Runs a section of the restaurant to a high standard throughout the guest’s full dining experience.
  2. Shows flexibility and adaptability in working breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.
  3. Sets up the restaurant before dinner service according to the table plan.
  4. Opens tables on EPOS before dinner service, recording allergies or special requests.
  5. Understands the menu and makes necessary amendments for allergens.
  6. Communicates guest issues with the management team and kitchen.
  7. Processes food orders and payments on EPOS.
  8. Takes drinks orders and processes them on EPOS.
  9. Processes vouchers on EPOS.
  10. Charges bills to guest rooms accurately.
  11. Prepares tea and coffee to guests' requirements.
  12. Presents and explains the wine list layout to guests.
  13. Seats guests confidently and explains how the menu works.
  14. Serves dishes confidently, with explanations from the kitchen.
  15. Calls away dishes to the kitchen efficiently.
  16. Clears tables with elegance.
  17. Reads guests confidently and adapts table-side manner accordingly.
  18. Follows safety procedures to ensure safety of guests and colleagues.
  19. Represents the restaurant positively on hotel grounds.
  20. Communicates clearly with guests to manage expectations without misleading.
  21. Takes pride in and maintains the provided uniform.
  22. Sets a good example for junior staff.
  23. Understands food hygiene and its importance in the restaurant.
  24. Supports the management team in restaurant operations.
  25. Contributes to guest profiles for returning guests.
  26. Handles end-of-night banking and shift handovers.
Qualifications
  • Food hygiene qualification is essential or willingness to undertake it promptly.
  • Previous experience in waiting roles, ideally within a hotel dining service.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality service.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to act as a First Aid Aider or Fire Warden.
Additional Information

Salary: £31,005

Gratuities are allocated based on development tiers, with average levels projected around £550 per month.

Hours: 45 hours per week.
