Job summary

Gold Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Lead Planning Manager to own the planning function on a high-profile £1bn construction project. You will lead a team of seven planners, align with the Project Director, and drive programme performance to support key project decisions.

This is a rare opportunity to join a UK main contractor on a flagship scheme, with a competitive salary of £100-130,000 plus car allowance, bonus and package, plus 30 days leave and strong career progression.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working for a UK main contractor.
• A proven track record in a Lead Planning Manager, Senior Planning Manager or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience delivering major, complex construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing and developing planning teams.
• Expert knowledge of construction planning methodologies and programme management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the planning function for a major £1bn construction project.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of planning professionals.
• Develop, maintain and oversee the master programme, ensuring robust planning processes are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide strategic planning advice to the Project Director and senior management team.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies where required.
• Produce detailed progress reports and programme updates for internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with operational, commercial and design teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
• Drive best practice planning processes across the project and promote continuous improvement.
