Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician to cover our Head Office buildings at WGC. You will maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to keep environments safe and operational for thousands of colleagues.

Role involves planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and optimisation of system performance. A strong technical background and proactive problem-solving approach are essential, with ongoing training and career development

Qualifications

• HVAC/R knowledge and relevant certifications.
• Full driving license required.
• Health & Safety awareness essential.
• Office 365 and digital work tools experience.
• Gas safety certificates (CCN1/CODNCO1) and HVAC qualifications.
• Certifications in refrigeration and air conditioning (C&G 6187, 7189, 6090) and plumbing/heating (C&G 4467, 3345, 6189, 6035).
• G3 unvented water systems certs.
• Other NVQ or equivalent qualifications acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Tesco HO sites at WGC are safe and functioning for customers and colleagues.
• Follow planned work schedules to achieve first-time fix and maximise productivity.
• Deliver high quality work standards across the estate with year-on-year improvement.
• Use problem-solving to identify and develop practical solutions for common issues.
• Own tasks locally through to completion and inform stakeholders as required.
• Utilise mobile devices to drive best practice and update work orders.
• Support asset lifecycle management through accurate reporting in business systems.
• Contribute to KPI delivery through effective use of skills and systems.

Job description

As an HVAC Maintenance Technician at Tesco, covering our Head Office buildings at WGC, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our environments comfortable, safe, and fully operational for our colleagues. Your expertise in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems will ensure our stores remain energy-efficient and compliant with safety standards. You’ll be part of a skilled maintenance team, responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of HVAC systems and equipment. From diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and optimising system performance, your work will help ensure a seamless working experience for thousands of colleagues every day. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach to problem solving, and a commitment to high standards of service and safety. • Supporting KPI delivery, through the practical application of skill sets, and effective use of business systems to drive achievement of your own set KPIs.

• ICPN1 - Installation first fix commercial pipework

• TPCP1A - Testing and direct purging of low pressure commercial pipework not exceeding 1m3
