Job summary

Macmillan Cancer Support is seeking a Head of Workforce and Organisation Design. The role is permanently hybrid, with 1 day per week in our London office, and offers a salary in the £78,000–£86,000 range.

You will lead a specialist team, build workforce planning frameworks, and shape structures and operating models to deliver Macmillan’s strategy. You will influence leaders, translate data into decisions, and drive talent and career pathways to strengthen organisational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Expertise in workforce planning, modelling, forecasting and scenario planning.
• Experience designing organisational structures, operating models and capability frameworks.
• Ability to turn workforce data into clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong influencing and facilitation skills to engage senior leaders.
• Collaborative, inclusive leadership style with ability to create new approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower a high-performing Workforce and Organisation Design team.
• Develop strategic workforce planning frameworks with multi-year outlooks.
• Shape organisational design, structures and operating models for collaboration and delivery.
• Plan for the future of work, considering AI and emerging technologies.
• Develop talent and skills frameworks and succession plans.
• Influence strategic decisions using data and workforce modelling.
• Equip leaders with tools and guidance to make workforce decisions.
