Job summary

City of Bradford MDC is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Environment to lead a broad portfolio across waste collection and disposal, street cleansing, parks and green spaces, allotments, household waste recycling centres and fleet services in Bradford.

You will build a strong leadership team, develop improvements across front-line services for Bradford’s communities, and guide the service through national reforms, depot consolidation and the evolving kerbside programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead waste collection and disposal, street cleansing, parks and green spaces, allotments, household waste recycling centres and fleet services.
• Oversee depot consolidation and respond to Simpler Recycling reforms and future kerbside changes.
• Build leadership capability to drive improvement across front-line services.
• Manage a workforce of around 500 staff.
