Recruiting for an experienced Head of Underwriting to join a progressive Insurtech company based in Gibraltar. As the Head of Underwriting , you will lead the execution of the underwriting strategy, underwriting analysis and insights for our clients' portfolios. This appointment will represent a key hire for the Gibraltar management team.

What You Will Be Doing

• Set and execute the underwriting strategy, including underwriting risk appetite, underwriting governance and oversight, and underwriting guidelines
• Manage our clients' portfolios in conjunction with the Head of Actuarial and PortfolioManagement Lead, including weekly and monthly analysis, development of pricing andunderwriting actions to increase GWP, and initiating remediation action where required
• Lead and manage product simplification projects, ensuring the clients insurance products offer fair value to customers, ensuring our customer documentation are simple to understand
• Manage the underwriting referral process from the clients group Company
• Lead and manage the underwriting and peer review process, engaging with externalaudit partners where relevant
• Contribute to the business planning, ORSA and risk management processes
• Lead and support technical underwriting discussions with key partners including quotashare reinsurers, excess of loss reinsurers and co-insurance partners.
• As a member of our clients decision-making committees, you will be discussing Pricing & Underwriting, Claims, Audit Risk and Reserving, Product Oversight and Governance.

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role

• 10 years or more experience in UK personal lines motor underwriting.
• Have a customer-centric, innovative approach to product and underwriting.
• Have experience of writing and drafting policy wordings, ensuring these are fair andeasy for customers to understand.
• Comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
• An excellent communicator, confident articulating your ideas and perspectivesindividually and across the organisation.
• You are analytical and able to draw extensive insights from qualitative and quantitativedata.
• Commercially savvy and enjoy the challenge of adapting to the evolving needsof an ambitious, high-growth business.
