ASSISTANT HEAD OF CREDIT UNDERWRITING - METALS & COMMODITIES

Contribute to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth as defined by Allianz Trade Group strategy through development and implementation of credit strategy with a strong focus on customer centricity.

• Attract new customers through quality service and sound credit underwriting decisions.
• Build trust-based relationships with customers, brokers, and trade bodies to enhance customer portfolio experience.

Main Tasks

1. Effectively build, monitor, and implement the appropriate Credit Underwriting stance.
2. Monitor risk in line with Group Quality Standards, manage loss ratios within budget, and provide quality credit services.
3. Steer the portfolio through quality credit decisions.
4. Lead, manage, and develop the Credit Underwriting team in line with talent management and succession planning processes.
5. Provide quality responses and informed business decisions to customers.
6. Serve as the key contact for large and strategic clients/brokers to ensure the right policy strategy, maintaining loss ratios within tolerance, and maximizing coverage to meet renewal and new business targets.
7. Manage costs within budget and improve customer service and productivity by reassessing procedures and recommending changes.
8. Support Commercial in achieving top-line profitable growth.
9. Develop market and industry presence through interactions with clients, brokers, and trade bodies, and contribute to marketing content and initiatives.
10. Deputise for the Head of Credit Underwriting as appropriate.
