Position: Head of Transactional Finance
Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (Hybrid flexible, 3 office days, 2 from home)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum
Transform processes. Strengthen controls. Lead from the front.
Are you an accomplished transactional finance leader who can balance strategic transformation with a genuinely hands‑on approach?
We are looking for a forward-thinking Head of Transactional Finance to lead, modernise and optimise our transactional finance operations. With responsibility across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and associated activities, you will play a pivotal role in creating an efficient, controlled and high‑performing finance function.
This is more than a traditional leadership position. You will set the strategic direction, drive automation and process improvement, develop team capability and strengthen financial controls. Just as importantly, you will stay close to day‑to‑day operations and be prepared to step in personally when additional support is needed.
If you are a finance leader who enjoys solving problems, improving how things work and leading visibly from the front, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful and measurable impact.
You will bring significant experience of managing transactional finance operations, supported by strong operational knowledge across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
A professional finance qualification, such as ACCA or AAT, would be desirable but is not essential.
As a key contributor to our business, you’ll benefit from a package that reflects your impact, supports your wellbeing and helps you continue to grow your career with us.
Dignity exists to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life with simplicity, dignity, kindness and exceptional care. Our head office teams, across functions like finance, HR, marketing and IT, make sure the people working directly with families have what they need to do that well.
Dignity is going through a real period of change. We’re building better systems, simplifying how things work, and strengthening the business for the long term, and head office plays a big part in making that happen.
We look for people who take pride in their work, support their colleagues, and want to keep learning. You’ll be part of a close team, and you’ll be able to see the difference your work makes, even when you’re not working with families directly.
If you’re looking for a role with variety, a supportive team, and the chance to grow, Dignity is a good place to be.
Dignity is part of a group that includes FCA‑regulated activities, and some roles may be subject to relevant training, screening, conduct, and regulatory requirements. This will be confirmed as part of the recruitment process.
Our Vision is to connect with our clients, colleagues, company and communities based on our principles whilst celebrating our differences.
