Job summary

Gazelle Global Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Testing to lead QA and testing across large-scale digital transformation programmes. This senior role will shape testing strategy, strengthen governance and drive quality across complex technology delivery.

Job description

I'm looking for an experienced Head of Testing to lead quality assurance and testing across large-scale digital transformation programmes. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong Utilities industry background who can shape testing strategy, strengthen governance and drive quality throughout complex technology delivery.

You'll take ownership of enterprise-wide testing, working closely with business, technology and delivery stakeholders to improve test maturity, manage risks and support reliable releases. You'll lead distributed testing teams, oversee third-party partners and provide senior leadership with clear reporting on quality, defects and delivery readiness.

Key Skills and Experience

• Essential experience within the Utilities industry.
• Strong background in testing strategy, governance and quality engineering.
• Leadership of enterprise-wide testing programmes and geographically distributed teams.
• Experience across SIT, UAT, regression, performance, security and automation testing.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, DevOps and risk-based testing.
• Test management tools including JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, qTest or Zephyr.
• Automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or Tosca.
• CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Performance testing using LoadRunner or JMeter.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.

The role is based in Reading, with hybrid working requiring 2-3 days per week in the office. The initial contract is six months, with an excellent day rate available.
