The Team:

The Technology Partnerships team drives S&P Global's most critical technology partner relationships. We value strategic thinking, relationship excellence, and collaborative leadership as we partner with key hyperscalers, frontier AI/LLM platforms and DeFi platforms to expand market reach and deliver innovative solutions to our global client base.

The Impact:

As Head of Technology Partnerships, you will lead one of the core pillars of the Enterprise Partnerships function, alongside Strategic Partnerships and Partnerships Governance. You will own the development of S&P Global's enterprise strategy for hyperscalers, frontier AI/LLM platforms and DeFi partners, working closely with the Head of Partnerships, KDP/MI leadership and key enterprise stakeholders. You will be accountable for commercial outcomes, partner adoption and partnership vitality, while ensuring partnership strategy is embedded in product strategy and execution. You will report directly to the Head of Partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the development and execution of a comprehensive Gen AI and Technology Partnerships strategy aligned to S&P Global's business objectives, in close partnership with the Head of Partnerships, KDP/MI leadership and enterprise stakeholders, prioritising co-build, co-investment, collaboration and go-to-market opportunities with key hyperscalers, frontier AI/LLM platforms and DeFi platforms.

  • Own named C-level engagement plans for priority hyperscalers and frontier AI partners, influencing external market participants and driving discussions through to signed execution, including deepening the Google relationship and extending the playbook to other hyperscalers and LLM platforms.

  • Lead the negotiation and structuring of complex partnership agreements with frontier partners, including tri-party and Kensho Labs commercial engagement models, applying deep commercial expertise to deliver successful execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Be accountable for direct and indirect commercial outcomes across multiple divisions, working with the CCO and divisional leadership to reset the AI commercial model, accelerate Common Client adoption and generate net-new revenue at renewal.

  • Build and launch an AI and Technology certification programme with defined tiers to accelerate partner connectivity, adoption and monetisation opportunities.

  • Partner closely with Partnerships Governance and Legal to embed IP protection, risk management and appropriate data-use controls into every technology partnership.

  • Build a hyperscaler adoption engine that converts trials into accounts, launches Workflows and Skills via MCP, and delivers targeted go-to-market programmes by platform and persona.

  • Orchestrate alignment across Product, Technology, Legal, Business Development and divisional leadership, ensuring the partnership strategy is reflected in product priorities and translated into coordinated execution.

  • Work with priority technology and strategic partners to identify emerging opportunities that align with S&P Global's product strategy, supported by rigorous market analysis and due diligence.

  • Own the role's KPI framework and partnership performance, with measures focused on commercial targets, adoption and partnership vitality, supported by regular business and C-level reviews and continual optimisation of partnership terms and structures.

  • Lead and develop a small team of senior partnership managers, setting clear commercial objectives and enabling high-performance delivery across the portfolio.

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development or relationship management within financial services or technology, including responsibility for enterprise strategy, commercial outcomes and senior relationships with hyperscalers or AI/LLM platforms.

  • Proven track record of developing partnership strategy and negotiating and closing complex, multi-year agreements with major technology or platform players, with clear accountability for commercial results.

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with experience in partnership economics and ROI analysis.

  • Solid understanding of AI/LLM ecosystems, data licensing, and commercial models such as connector, usage and volume-based fee structures.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder orchestration and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, product leaders and external market participants.

  • Track record of building and scaling partnership programmes from inception to maturity, and embedding partnership priorities into product strategy and execution.

  • Ability to lead, coach and develop a team of senior partnership managers.
