Job summary

ESco is seeking a Head of Technology to join the Senior Leadership Team and shape the company’s technical direction in a senior role that spans software, data, AI and business processes.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, translate commercial priorities into impactful tech solutions, and guide architectural decisions to ensure resilient, scalable systems. This role blends strategy with hands-on influence in a growing UK technology business.

Qualifications

• Significant technical leadership experience in a software/tech environment.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams.
• Strong knowledge of modern software development practices and engineering.
• Ability to translate complex technical thinking into clear, commercially sound decisions.
• Experience developing and delivering a technology roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own and deliver ESco’s technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and develop the multidisciplinary technology team.
• Provide technical direction across software development, systems and the wider tech environment.
• Translate commercial and operational priorities into effective technology solutions.
• Guide and challenge proposed solutions, architecture and technology choices.
• Shape approach to software development, integrations, data, cloud technologies and resilience.
• Lead ESco’s AI and automation strategy and embed scalable solutions across services and operations.
• Prioritise technology investment balancing value, cost, risk and long-term fit.
• Contribute technical expertise to client and commercial discussions.
• Turn plans into action and deliver meaningful, sustainable change.
