Job summary

Connect Group is seeking a strategic Head of Systems to align and lead the systems and software functions across the business. The role focuses on defining technical strategy, architecture, and engineering standards to deliver scalable, reliable solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

You will chair a cross-functional engineering team, drive architecture governance, and mentor engineers to achieve delivery predictability and excellence in performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• Proven leadership in systems or software engineering within a product development environment.
• Familiarity with OS coding techniques, IP protocols, and hardware interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving and mentoring abilities for technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the systems engineering capability across the business.
• Define and govern system architecture, design standards, and overall technical direction.
• Own system requirements, development planning, verification, and validation activities.
• Improve product quality, reliability, root-cause analysis, and performance.

Requirements

• Strong experience in systems engineering, software engineering, embedded systems, or a similar technical leadership role within a product development environment.
• Familiarity with modern operating system coding techniques, IP protocols, and hardware interfaces.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills with a proven ability to investigate root causes and make sound engineering decisions.
• Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, or mentoring technical teams to promote engineering excellence.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business-focused recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
