Job summary

Victoria College of Arts and Design in London (Canary Wharf) seeks a visionary Head of Student Experience to shape and oversee all student-facing services, from wellbeing to employability, and to partner with Directors and academic leaders to drive retention and progression.

This senior role requires UK higher education leadership, knowledge of OfS and B3 outcomes, safeguarding and equality commitments, and effective management of a diverse team and budgets while building external partnerships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior student services/experience leadership role within a UK higher education provider.
• Knowledge of OfS Conditions of Registration, B3 outcomes, and Access & Participation obligations.
• Proven ability to use data and student outcome metrics to drive strategic decision-making and service improvements.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with experience building and motivating diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a coherent, inclusive Student Experience strategy across all student-facing services.
• Support regulatory compliance and OfS readiness, including B3 outcomes and progression metrics.
• Lead responses to NSS and translate feedback into measurable service improvements.
• Provide data-informed reports and strategic recommendations at Board level.
• Design and deliver a technology-enhanced student support service to remove barriers to success.
• Ensure compliance with Equality Act 2010, GDPR, safeguarding, and disability support requirements.
• Oversee budgeting and resource allocation for student experience functions.
• Develop employability strategies and establish industry relationships for internships and graduate opportunities.
