Job Description:

As the Head of Strategic Capacity Planning and Capability Building, you'll be responsible for aligning the workforce with strategic objectives by developing an overview of capacity and capability across Technology, Data, Operational Excellence (OpEx), and Change resources, both internal and external. Your leadership will guide medium to long-term planning, workforce strategy, and capability development within the AXA UK and Ireland (UK&I) region.

AXA promotes flexible working, allowing employees to balance home and office work, with at least 40% of the week away from home, increasing to the majority of the week from September 2025. Flexibility can be discussed during the application process.

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Establish current, medium, and long-term workforce needs for UK&I to support strategic workforce decisions.
  2. Lead the design of impactful workforce solutions in collaboration with the COO ExCom and stakeholders.
  3. Maintain a comprehensive view of COO resources and sourcing strategies.
  4. Build partnerships with recruitment agencies and consultancies to enhance value.
  5. Develop and implement frameworks to enhance capabilities across Tech, Data, and OpEx.
  6. Collaborate with guilds and Academies to ensure consistent training and career pathways.
  7. Establish succession and talent management frameworks to address knowledge gaps.
  8. Serve as the central point for workforce planning, capability mapping, and sourcing views.
  9. Define processes and infrastructure for capacity management, ensuring priorities and standards are met.
  10. Develop workforce strategies aligned with business and functional goals.
