Job summary

SkyBound is seeking a Hands-on Head of Software in the UK to work closely with the CTO, shape the technical direction of the platform, and mentor a growing engineering team. You will be the most senior developer and central escalation point for complex software challenges.

You will work across frontend, cloud, and real-time systems, guiding architecture decisions while staying deeply involved in coding to deliver reliable autonomous operations.

Qualifications

• Built scalable software products and defined technical strategy.
• Experience guiding developers and acting as escalation point for deep technical challenges.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and iterate quickly.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leadership and coding for core platform features.
• Define system architecture, tooling choices, and engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers, review code, drive delivery across multiple projects, assist recruitment.
• Collaborate with AI, Remote Operations, and Commercial teams to support autonomous deployments.
