Job summary

We Do Social Work seeks an experienced Head of Service – Home Again to lead a transformative programme for children and young people with complex needs. You will shape strategy, mobilisation and sustainable delivery, working with partners across services and commissioners to improve outcomes.

You will build a high-performing multidisciplinary team, establish governance and reporting, and drive innovations that reduce reliance on restrictive care while safeguarding vulnerable families.

Qualifications

• A proven track record of strategic leadership and delivering complex programmes or service transformation.
• Strong knowledge of needs and challenges facing children and young people with complex needs.
• Experience of governance, quality assurance and risk management.
• Excellent partnership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience of multidisciplinary team leadership and safeguarding commitments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the Home Again Programme.
• Lead mobilisation, implementation and ongoing delivery of the service model.
• Develop and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary workforce.
• Establish referral pathways, assessment processes and intervention models.
• Build partnerships across children's services, health, education and commissioning.
• Drive service improvement and sustainable alternatives to restrictive care.
• Ensure governance, quality assurance and performance management.
• Monitor outcomes, milestones and benefits realisation.
• Manage budgets, resources and strategic risks.
