Grade/Salary: NHS: Agenda for Change Band 8C; Glasgow City Council: Grade 10

Tenure: Fixed Term (up to 6 months)

Hours: NHS: 37 hours; Council: 35 hours

Location: Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow

Role Overview

The Glasgow City HSCP aims to deliver effective health and social care transformation, focusing on collaborative planning and service delivery aligned with their values. The Head of Service (Finance) will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for leading the finance function, including budgeting, accounts, and financial planning, working closely with NHS and Council finance directors.

Candidate Requirements

• Significant senior management experience in finance within large, complex organizations, NHS or local government.
• Degree or equivalent qualification; Chartered CCAB, CIMA, or overseas equivalent accountant.
• Extensive knowledge in finance management, strategy, policy development, and service improvement.
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Ability to develop strategic, creative solutions for organizational change.
• High integrity, excellent judgment, negotiation skills, and political sensitivity.
