Job description

Inventum has partnered with an independent advertising agency. Founded 5 years ago, they are a Google Premier Partner, boasting a roster of well-known global clients predominantly within the B2B, Fintech, and e-commerce sectors.

They are building an agency focused on delivering client value and centered around client experience. You'll join a small team across SEO, PPC, Paid Social, Content, etc., and work predominantly remotely, with some travel to London for key meetings.

They are hiring a Head of SEO to lead and scale their SEO function as they continue their rapid growth. This pivotal role is the first hire, responsible for defining and executing SEO strategies that drive measurable results for their clients.

Responsibilities:

SEO Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement industry-leading SEO strategies across technical, on-page, and off-page SEO.
  • Stay ahead of algorithm updates and industry trends to ensure best-in-class performance.
  • Create and oversee tailored SEO roadmaps for clients, ensuring sustainable growth.

Client Leadership & Growth:

  • Act as the senior point of contact for all SEO clients, ensuring high retention and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clients to translate business goals into actionable SEO strategies.
  • Drive new business growth by contributing to pitches and identifying SEO opportunities.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing SEO team, hiring, mentoring, and upskilling as required.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where innovation and performance thrive.
  • Work cross-functionally with Paid Media, CRO, and Web Development teams to ensure integrated digital strategies.
  • Current team management of 1 person.

Performance Analysis & Reporting:

  • Establish and maintain a framework for tracking and reporting SEO success.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations based on performance data.

Operational Excellence:

  • Develop efficient workflows, tools, and processes to enhance SEO delivery.
  • Manage SEO budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies that deliver strong ROI.
  • Work with external partners where necessary to scale execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a senior SEO role, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Strong technical SEO expertise, with experience in site migrations, indexation, and site architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with key SEO tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of content marketing, link-building strategies, and search intent.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and other reporting platforms.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
