Job summary

DWP. Digital with Purpose. is seeking a Head of Secure Design to lead cyber security, fraud risk and secure design across Working Age Services. You will enable informed, risk-based decision making while ensuring services remain secure, resilient and trusted.

Leading the Secure Design function, you will work with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams to embed security from the outset, shaping standards and controls and strengthening response to threats at scale.

Qualifications

• Strategic leadership in a complex cyber security environment.
• Expert knowledge of protective security innovation.
• Holistic threat understanding via threat models and external threat intel.
• Oversight of security experts (e.g., pen-testers, security architects, DevSecOps).
• Experience managing risk across the full lifecycle.
• Proven track record on large, high-impact programmes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for cyber security, fraud risk and secure design across Working Age Services.
• Embed security from the outset with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Shape standards, controls, risk and assurance processes and respond to emerging threats.
• Drive digital transformation enabling secure services at scale.
• Influence future security direction of a major government digital portfolio.
