Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Risk Manager – Head of Secure Design to drive security and fraud risk leadership for Working Age Services, including Universal Credit. You will oversee secure design delivery, coordinate with DWP Digital Security Risk Management, and guide risk-based decisions across multiple product teams and services.

This pivotal role demands extensive information security experience, strategic leadership, and ability to shape security strategy

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of leading protection of security and fraud risk.
• Experience in shaping security posture and risk management in large scale services.
• Experience collaborating with product owners and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead security and fraud risk expertise across Working Age Services and liaise with Senior Risk Owners and SLT.
• Establish and manage security posture and initiatives to protect information assets.
• Develop and enhance the fraud risk management framework to minimize exposure to fraud risks.
• Oversee deployment and proper use of security tools (IDS, vulnerability management, antivirus, encryption).
• Assess and mitigate known and emerging security threats and risks.
• Maintain awareness of security technologies and fraud risk methodologies within the service.
• Lead security awareness and education programs to ensure vigilance across staff.
