Job summary

GWR is seeking an experienced safety leader to join the Safety & Environment team as Head of Safety Management. You will lead a team of Safety Managers and specialists, providing strategic leadership and expert advice across the business to foster a positive, learning-focused culture where people go home safe every day.

Working with senior leaders, you will drive safety performance, support investigations and continually improve the Safety Management System.

Qualifications

• Holds NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience leading safety improvement programmes.
• Ability to influence at all levels and build a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Safety Managers and safety professionals and provide strategic leadership.
• Drive safety performance, support investigations, and improve the Safety Management System.
• Shape strategy and lead meaningful safety change across the business.

You'll work closelywith senior leaders to drive safety performance, support investigations and continually improve our Safety Management System.

We're looking for someone who:

• Is an experienced health and safety leader with a strong operational background.
• Holds a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
• Can influence, challenge and inspire at all levels.
• Has experience leading safety improvement programmes.
• Is passionate about developing people and building a strong safety culture.

Working Pattern:

37 hour working week – Monday to Friday
