Job Description:

Our client is a leading IP firm which offers commercially focussed advice on getting, enforcing and exploiting intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks and designs, to a variety of clients. It is a well-established and highly regarded national firm, which ranks highly for its expertise, as a great place to work and for its commitment to sustainability.

The firm has decided that now is the right time to bring someone in to lead on its risk and compliance matters, which are currently handled by a number of senior people within the business. This is an opportunity to spearhead risk and compliance within the firm and to make to make the function your own, working closely with the firm’s leadership team.

The key responsibilities involved in this newly created role will include steering the firm through ISO 27001 accreditation, which will initially be the primary focus of the role, as well as a range of risk and compliance matters such as business continuity planning, AML compliance, sanctions, client onboarding and data protection. You will also be involved in managing the firm’s ESG policies, compliance and accreditations.

Our client is ideally looking for someone who has gained experience of these areas of risk and compliance in a leading IP or law firm or other professional services environment. It is essential that you have experience of ISO 27001 and experience of other ISOs and either the SRA or IPReg compliance regime will be a significant advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take on this crucial area in role which could well suit someone who is looking to step into their first head of risk role, as well as those already leading on risk and compliance.
