Job summary

Vickerstock are recruiting for a Head of Quality on behalf of a major engineering and manufacturing organisation in Northern Ireland. You will lead the Quality function and drive the strategy across the operation, balancing stringent standards with practical manufacturing realities.

The role requires senior leadership, deep QMS knowledge, and a track record of delivering improvements. You will develop people, processes, and culture to sustain high quality performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level Quality experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Previous responsibility for leading and developing a Quality function.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and manufacturing quality.
• Proven experience improving quality performance within a complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong people leadership and team development capability.
• Experience with quality audits, compliance, root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Strong customer and supplier management experience.
• Ability to influence at senior management level and drive change across an organisation.
• Strong commercial awareness alongside technical Quality expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for Quality across the organisation.
• Lead, develop and strengthen the Quality function and its people.
• Develop and continually improve the overall Quality strategy.
• Ensure effective Quality Management Systems and controls are maintained across the business.
• Drive improvements in product, process and manufacturing quality.
• Develop a culture of quality ownership and accountability throughout the organisation.
• Use quality performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead the resolution of significant quality and customer issues.
• Ensure effective root cause and corrective action processes are embedded across the business.
• Oversee internal, external and customer quality audits.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and senior leadership.
• Support new product and business activity from a Quality perspective.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and change across Quality and wider operational processes.
