Job summary

Able Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a respected training provider for a Head of Quality and Compliance role in Newcastle. This senior leadership post oversees regulatory compliance, quality assurance and apprenticeship accountability to deliver high learner outcomes and employer value.

You will drive Ofsted readiness, ensure funding rules and contractual requirements, and shape strategies to enhance safeguarding and learner protection while promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within an independent training provider or similar environment.
• Proven Ofsted outcomes and inspections experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted EIF and apprenticeship provision.
• Excellent understanding of DWP and DfE requirements and funding rules.
• Experience leading compliance, quality assurance and improvement programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's compliance and quality assurance framework across apprenticeship provision.
• Maintain strategic oversight of apprenticeship accountability, ensuring learner progress and funding performance.
• Ensure compliance with current DWP and DfE requirements and contractual terms.
• Lead readiness for Ofsted inspection, including self assessment and improvement planning.
• Monitor teaching, learning, assessment and learner support quality and impact.
• Direct internal audits, compliance reviews and QA activities with evidenced actions.
• Provide clear reporting and challenge to senior leaders on compliance and risk.
• Ensure safeguarding, Prevent and learner protection meet regulatory standards.
• Translate regulatory changes into practical operational procedures.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and inspection readiness.
