Job summary

The Collective Network Limited is seeking a Head of Quality in Gloucester to own the Quality Management System and lead internal and external audits. You will drive CAPA based on root cause analysis and shape quality input on new aerospace programmes.

Experience: 5+ years in aerospace quality, 3+ years in team leadership; strong AS9100 background; familiar with CAA/EASA expectations and 8D/5 Whys/Fishbone methods. Composites quality experience preferred.

• 5+ years in aerospace quality role with 3+ years managing a team
• CAA/EASA expectations and root cause methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
• Nadcap familiarity or IATF 16949 knowledge would help

Responsibilities

• Hold full ownership of the Quality Management System, keeping audits ready against AS9100 and ISO 9001
• Lead internal reviews and front external audits from customers, registrars or regulators
• Manage nonconforming material and drive CAPA grounded in root cause work
• Steer quality input on new programmes through FAIR, APQP and PPAP
• Define supplier quality expectations and carry out supplier audits
• Grow and coach a quality team, setting the tone for how the wider business approaches quality
• Act as the go-to quality contact for customers and certification bodies

AS9100 doesn’t run itself. Neither does a genuine quality culture. You’d be responsible for both.

Our client manufactures precision components for aerospace, automotive, defence and space customers, and is growing quickly. They need a Head of Quality to shape the function properly from here, rather than firefight one into existence later.

You’ll:

• Hold full ownership of the Quality Management System, keeping things audit-ready against AS9100 and ISO 9001 at all times
• Lead internal reviews and front external audits, whether from customers, registrars or regulators
• Manage nonconforming material and push CAPA that’s grounded in genuine root cause work
• Steer quality input on new programmes through FAIR, APQP and PPAP
• Define supplier quality expectations and carry out supplier audits
• Grow and coach a quality team, setting the tone for how the wider business approaches it
• Act as the go-to quality contact for customers and certification bodies

You’ll need:

• Strong, practical AS9100 background, covering everything from setup to certification and ongoing surveillance audits
• At least 5 years in an aerospace quality role, with 3+ years managing a team
• Solid understanding of CAA/EASA expectations and root cause methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
• A relevant technical degree, or equivalent hands-on experience

Composites quality experience is essential here. Nadcap familiarity or IATF 16949 knowledge would also help.
