Job summary

Bloomsbury Football Foundation is building a public affairs function as it scales from London to a national charity, aiming for 40,000 weekly beneficiaries by 2030. The role leads government engagement, bids and funding strategies, leveraging relationships with ministers and officials to drive income and impact.

Based in the London Office, you will own key relationships, shape propositions, and guide multi-channel fundraising while aligning with our mission to use football for social change.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the political world: government, Parliament, public affairs, policy or related field.
• Active network across the statutory ecosystem and ability to build new relationships at senior level.
• Track record of securing statutory, political or institutional income, through grants, contracts or tenders.
• Commercial, target-driven mindset with the drive to bring in income.
• Excellent written communication turning evidence into persuasive narrative.
• Sound political judgment and discretion for senior representation.
• Proactive ownership: build things, take initiative, follow through.
• Ability to handle many priorities in a fast-growing org.
• Strong alignment with Bloomsbury Football Foundation's values.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Own statutory funder relationships from horizon-scanning to award, across grants, contracts and tenders.
• Create proactive, fundable propositions for ministers, officials and commissioners.
• Lead bid writing to an exceptional standard and develop consortia bids.
• Collaborate with councils and partners; leverage partnerships for large funds.
• Oversee relationships with funders like Youth Endowment Fund, Sport England and FIFA.
• Coordinate with programmes and finance teams to ensure deliverable bids.
• Lead Bloomsbury's public affairs function from the outset and build a team.
