Job summary

The National Physical Laboratory seeks a senior leader to own the project delivery profession within the Quantum & Timing Portfolio. You will lead the Project Delivery capability, establish delivery standards and coach the PM community to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

You will partner with the Enterprise PMO and BU leadership to optimise governance, risk, reporting and resourcing across complex programmes, driving delivery excellence and a high-performing delivery culture.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading diverse and complex project portfolios.
• Expertise in project management methodologies, resourcing, governance and controls.
• Experience leading, developing and coaching project management professionals.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
• Strong commercial, risk management and decision-making capability.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex projects with scope, schedule, budget, quality and benefits.
• Provide project leadership on strategically important initiatives with significant BU/technical impact.
• Ensure governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and reporting across the lifecycle.
• Support project recovery and provide expert leadership, assurance and coaching to teams.
• Act as a senior escalation point for delivery issues and challenges.
• Lead development of the Project Delivery capability and high-performing community.
