Job summary

Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) seeks a strategic Head of Professional Qualifications to lead development of our professional qualifications portfolio across dance, musical theatre and the performing arts. You will drive innovation, ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance while expanding opportunities for learners and employers.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape qualification design, assessment and curriculum, build partnerships with regulators and awarding organisations,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and demonstrable leadership experience within qualifications, vocational education, higher education or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of qualification development, assessment and quality assurance.
• Experience working within regulated education and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop new initiatives, drive improvement and respond to changing sector needs.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge and expertise of dance, musical theatre and the wider performing arts sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and delivery of the professional qualifications portfolio.
• Drive innovation in qualification design, assessment and curriculum development and identify growth opportunities.
• Build relationships with awarding bodies, regulators, employers and sector partners.
• Use learner data and sector intelligence to inform portfolio development.
• Lead, develop and empower teams, fostering excellence, collaboration and improvement.
• Champion learner achievement and professional progression.
