Job description

The opportunity

Credit Technologies is looking for a hands‑on product leader to take clear ownership of our product function and customer experience. This person will set product direction, strengthen collaboration with engineering, and ensure our new propositions move seamlessly from strategy to well‑defined, commercially successful customer experiences with AI at their core.

Central to the launch and development of Credit Angel and MoneyGuru, this role will lead the product application of our AI layer, creating conversational and personalized customer journeys to help customers understand their financial position and access suitable financial products. While technical architecture and engineering remain with the CTO, this role owns the overall product road map, user needs, priorities, and outcomes.

We are entering an exciting growth phase as we launch Credit Angel, our next‑generation credit score and report app, and MoneyGuru, an AI‑native personal finance assistant.

The role

The Head of Product will work alongside the Managing Director to shape and execute company‑wide product strategy, roadmaps, and operating models. You will lead the existing product team, establish clear priorities, and act as the senior product counterpart to the CTO and engineering organisation.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior or Lead Product Manager ready to take their first Head of Product role. It suits someone who thrives in a small, fast‑moving, and highly collaborative team environment, setting direction while remaining close to discovery, requirements, delivery, and performance.

  • Translate business objectives, customer needs and commercial opportunities into clear product outcomes and delivery priorities.

  • Lead, support and develop the existing product function, creating clear roles, responsibilities

  • Introduce a consistent product operating model covering discovery, validation, prioritisation, requirements, delivery, launch and optimisation.

  • Provide clear recommendations and constructive challenge when priorities or proposed solutions are not sufficiently defined.

Product and engineering alignment
  • Act as the senior product counterpart to the CTO and create strong alignment between product, engineering and the wider business.

  • Ensure engineering receives clear, validated and prioritised requirements with measurable intended outcomes.

  • Maintain an effective roadmap and product backlog, with transparent decisions, dependencies, risks and trade‑offs.

  • Resolve ambiguity early and ensure sufficient product discovery takes place before significant development commitments are made.

  • Balance pace, customer value, commercial return and regulatory requirements.

AI‑enabled products
  • Own the product direction for the customer facing AI layer across MoneyGuru, Credit Angel and future propositions.

  • Lead the development of conversational, personalised customer journeys using credit, eligibility and other relevant customer data.

  • Identify where AI can improve customer understanding, engagement, conversion and operational efficiency.

  • Work with the CTO and engineering team to translate AI capabilities into safe, useful and commercially viable products.

  • Define product controls for AI quality, including evaluation, accuracy, guardrails, explainability, escalation and ongoing monitoring.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience in digital product management, with ownership of strategy, roadmaps and end‑to‑end delivery.

  • Experience in consumer credit, lending, credit bureau, financial marketplaces, comparison services or fintech.

  • Experience of credit eligibility, pre‑approval, soft‑search, decisioning or product‑matching journeys.

  • Experience leading a product workstream, small team or significant cross‑functional programme.

  • A record of launching and improving customer‑facing digital products using evidence and measurable outcomes.

  • Strong experience aligning product and engineering teams around clear priorities and requirements.

  • Practical exposure to AI‑enabled, conversational or highly personalised products, with a sound understanding of large language models, evaluation, guardrails and failure modes.

  • Strong commercial judgement and experience improving conversion, engagement, retention or revenue.

  • Confidence working across senior stakeholders and moving between strategy, customer discovery, detailed requirements and delivery.

  • Experience in a regulated, data‑sensitive or high‑governance environment.

  • Experience in a scale‑up or entrepreneurial business where product leaders remain close to execution.

  • Experience with user feedback A/B testing features/products and customer experience.

  • Hands on experience with AI, building prototypes in platforms and using AI to enhance processes in delivery and product management.

Desirable
  • Knowledge of lender integrations, credit data, Open Banking or subscription products.

  • Understanding of FCA regulation and Consumer Duty.
