Job Title: Head of Procurement

About:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly experienced Procurement Leader to head up the procurement function of an exciting manufacturing company located in Leeds. Reporting to the Executive Board, your duties will involve managing products, services, and suppliers, as well as leading the category management team.

Purpose of the job:

Planning, executing, and finalising purchasing and procurement strategies for organizational spend. This includes acquiring resources within budget and facilitating communication between providers to deliver products and services according to plan.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Achieve targets set for operational KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant departmental management procedures.
• Manage policies and procedures regarding the purchase of goods and services, adhering to finance standards.
• Research product markets related to raw materials and services to develop supplier relationships and understand lead times.
• Expedite order requirements with suppliers to meet supply needs and resolve shipment issues.
• Ensure timely delivery of procured items.
• Manage key supplier relationships, introducing KPIs where appropriate.
• Liaise with operational and quality control teams to support procurement requirements at pre-award stage.
• Coordinate with commercial, tendering, scheduling, and production departments to meet client expectations and project milestones.
• Lead the procurement team to ensure suppliers deliver components and equipment aligned with client delivery dates.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant industry experience.
• Experience in casting and raw materials procurement.
• Supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Staff management experience.
• Budget management skills.
• Procurement management expertise.
• Excellent IT and software skills.
