Job summary

Reed represents a dynamic legal firm recruiting a Head of Private Client to lead the private client department in Kingsbridge and Totnes. You will oversee the team, manage a varied caseload, and play a key role in service delivery and development of the department.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years PQE, excels at client care, and can work independently or with a team. STEP and SFE membership are advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-8 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a similar role.
• Demonstrable ability to manage a varied caseload with a high degree of competence and independence.
• Strong client care skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Enthusiastic about participating in business development activities.
• STEP qualification and SFE membership are advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Join our Client's expanding Private Client department at a dynamic and growth-oriented legal firm. They are seeking an experienced Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives to head up their Private Client department in Kingsbridge and Totness and handle a diverse caseload. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about client service and are looking to play a key role in the development and management of the department.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage and develop the Private Client team
• Manage a varied caseload including the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney, tax planning, estate administration, and Court of Protection work.
• Demonstrate excellent client care skills, ensuring all client interactions are handled with empathy and professionalism.
• Engage actively in the business development of the department, contributing to its growth and success.
• Maintain consistent fee earning through efficient and effective case management.
