Salary: £55,000 to £86,000 based on experience.

Head of Pre-Prep

Academics are proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious independent school in the Canterbury area, who are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Pre-Prep to join their Senior Leadership Team.

This key leadership role will involve overseeing the strategic and day-to-day running of the Nursery and Pre-Prep (ages 2-7), ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care across the EYFS and KS1.

The Role:
  • Lead and manage the Nursery and Pre-Prep departments
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing team of early years and KS1 educators
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in curriculum delivery
  • Work closely with other SLT members to uphold the school's ethos and values
  • Maintain strong partnerships with parents and the wider school community

The Ideal Candidate:
  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with substantial leadership experience in early years and KS1
  • Holds the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship)
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding EYFS and KS1 provision
  • A confident and inspiring leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Committed to nurturing the whole child in a warm and inclusive environment

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract (1 year) position, starting September 2025.
