Job summary

Flatiron Health, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering, Technical Platform to lead our global Developer Platform and AI infrastructure, serving hundreds of engineers across multiple pillars.

This hybrid role reports to the CTO and focuses on platform as a product, governance, and enterprise-scale reliability. You will partner with product, security, and finance to define roadmaps, ensure cost controls, and deliver measurable improvements in developer velocity and AI maturity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading platform engineering organizations supporting hundreds of software and data engineers across distributed teams.
• Strong technical depth across large-scale data processing pipelines, storage architectures, cloud platform services, and high-availability enterprise environments.
• Hands-on or strategic experience operationalising AI/ML developer workflows, LLM infrastructure, or agentic developer tools.
• Ability to build trust across engineering pillars, product partners, security teams, and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and consolidate global Developer Platform and AI infrastructure capabilities.
• Treat the Platform as a Product to reduce cognitive load and accelerate developer velocity.
• Drive platform strategy with product management to define vision and metrics.
• Guide HA infrastructure for enterprise data processing, storage, and SaaS integrations.
• Provide tooling and IT operations support for internal customers and employees.
• Scale AI capabilities with investment in developer tooling and governance.
