Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Head of Planning in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, to lead the entire Planning function for a £700m business. You will drive strategy and ensure a high-quality planning service across UK sites.

This role requires a degree in construction management or engineering, senior planning management experience, and strong leadership, communication, and commercial awareness to optimise project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field, with professional certifications.
• Significant experience in a Senior Planning Management role.
• Excellent communicator with leadership skills.
• Strong team leadership and collaboration abilities.
• Solid business and commercial awareness.
• Deep knowledge of construction technology.
• Ability to work under pressure.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Planning to join VolkerFitzpatrick and lead the entire Planning function for a £700m business. This role will be based out of Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, with travel across the UK to sites, as required.

The successful candidate will lead and determine the strategic objectives of the Planning function, whilst ensuring a consistent and high-quality planning service is delivered.

About You

• A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, along with relevant professional certifications
• Prior significant experience in a Senior Planning Management role
• Excellent communicator
