Job summary

HW Finance in the UK is seeking a Head of Payroll to own the payroll function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance while leading transformation across processes, controls and systems. You will partner with People, Finance, Tax, and HR systems to deliver best-in-class payroll.

You will manage end-to-end UK payroll, year-end and statutory reporting, audits, and key relationships, building a high-performing team and driving automation across the function.

Qualifications

• Significant UK payroll leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and employment taxes.
• Detailed understanding of PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments.
• Experience leading payroll teams and managing audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll operation across the UK.
• Ensure payroll is delivered accurately and on time against service levels.
• Oversee monthly, weekly and ad hoc payroll activity.
• Manage year-end processes and statutory reporting.
• Maintain payroll controls, governance and compliance.
• Lead payroll audits and address resulting actions.
• Drive process improvement, automation and transformation.
• Support payroll technology developments and upgrades.
• Manage third-party relationships and act as payroll SME to senior stakeholders.
