Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking a highly experienced Head of Operations for Exhibitions based at the NEC Birmingham. You will lead the end-to-end operational delivery of domestic and international event logistics, coordinating skilled teams and complex movements to ensure flawless execution.

YOUR ROLE

From major international exhibitions and live events to high-profile global occasions, behind every successful event is a complex logistics operation that brings everything together. At CEVA Logistics, our Showfreight team makes this happen.

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and experienced Head of Operations to lead our exhibition operations based at the NEC Birmingham.

This is an opportunity to take the lead in a truly exciting and diverse operation, overseeing the logistics behind events across the UK and around the world. You'll be responsible for leading talented operational teams and managing complex international event movements.

Working closely with the Operations Director, you'll shape operational performance, develop client relationships and drive the continued growth of our business. No two events are the same, and this is a role where the scale, pace and variety of the work will keep you on your toes!

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Lead the operational delivery of our Domestic Event Logistics portfolio, ensuring the seamless movement and delivery of equipment, materials and freight to events across the UK and internationally.
• Oversee complex, time-critical event logistics operations, working with international colleagues, clients, organisers and suppliers to deliver successful events around the world.
• Take ownership of operational budgets, financial performance and forecasting, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, manage costs and maximise business performance.
• Become a trusted partner to our clients and event organisers, understanding their requirements and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
• Identify opportunities for growth, support new business development and work collaboratively to secure new contracts and strengthen existing partnerships.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Extensive experience leading operations within a large-scale, fast-paced exhibition, events or logistics environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with significant experience managing budgets, forecasts and operational performance.
• A proven track record of delivering against operational targets, KPIs and contractual commitments.
• Experience managing complex, multi-client relationships and delivering excellent customer service.
• Strong client relationship management skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and event organisers.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities, challenge performance and drive financial results
