COREcruitment seeks an exceptional Head of Operations for a fast-paced FMCG business in Glasgow. The role oversees stock, fulfilment and customer service, driving structure, accountability and growth across all operational functions.

You will manage a high-volume operation capable of nearly 1,000 daily orders, lead multi-functional teams, and implement transformation initiatives. This on-site role offers a competitive package, bonus and strong leadership support.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational function covering stock, goods-in/out, picking, packing, production, customer service and online order fulfilment.
• Manage and optimise a high-volume operation to process nearly 1,000 orders per day with accuracy and speed.
• Implement structure, processes and clear accountability across all operational functions and teams.
• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies; review workflows, resources and ways of working to boost productivity.
• Lead operational change and transformation, introducing new systems, processes and technologies as appropriate.
• Oversee stock and inventory management with accurate controls and reliable stock flow.
• Improve production and fulfilment performance to ensure smooth movement from production to dispatch.
• Develop and manage operational KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead and develop operational teams with defined roles, standards and performance expectations.
• Collaborate with commercial, customer service and senior leadership to align capability with demand and growth.
• Build scalable operational infrastructure to support continued growth and rising order volumes.

Head of Operations – FMCG business – Glasgow, Scotland - Up to £80k plus benefits

I am excited to be working with a leading FMCG business, covering both retail and ecommerce.Our client has multiple areas in this business with a strong sales track history, a loyal team and a strong company culture.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Operations to join a leading and fast-paced FMCG business in Glasgow.

This is a pivotal role for an experienced operational leader who can take ownership of a complex, high-volume operation and build the structure, processes and capabilities needed to support the next stage of growth.

With almost 1,000 customer orders processed every day, this is an environment where pace, accuracy, efficiency and operational discipline matter.We are looking for someone who doesn't simply manage the operation as it stands today, but someone who can challenge how things are done, implement change and materially improve the way the businessfunctions.

This role will be 5 days per week on site, with flexible working hours expected.

The Head of Operations responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end operational function, covering stock, goods-in/out, picking, packing, production, customer service and online order fulfilment.
• Manage and optimise a high-volume operation, ensuring the business can consistently process almost 1,000 orders per day accurately and efficiently.
• Implement structure, processes and clear accountability across all operational functions and teams.
• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, continuously reviewing workflows, resource allocation and ways of working to improve productivity and functionality.
• Lead operational change and transformation, challenging existing processes and implementing new systems, processes and technologies where appropriate.
• Oversee stock and inventory management, ensuring accuracy, availability, effective stock flow and appropriate controls.
• Improve production and fulfilment performance, ensuring products move efficiently from production through to picking, packing and dispatch.
• Develop and manage operational KPIs, using data and performance reporting to identify issues, measure productivity and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead, develop and structure operational teams, ensuring the right people, responsibilities, standards and performance expectations are in place.
• Work closely with commercial, customer service and senior leadership teams to ensure operational capability supports customer demand and business growth.
• Build a scalable operational infrastructure, ensuring processes, people and capacity can support continued growth and increased order volumes.
• Take ownership of operational performance and problem-solving, including being flexible to work outside normal hours when required to maintain service levels and resolve critical operational issues.

The ideal Head of Operations Candidate:
