Job description

Elevation Recruitment Group is supporting a well-established, privately-owned manufacturing business near Chesterfield in the appointment of a Head of Operations.

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for site operations, covering manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing and logistics. The business produces high-volume consumer products for major UK retailers and operates a large, fast-paced production facility running 24/7.

Reporting into the board, the role will lead a team of around 250 and play a key role in shaping the operational strategy, driving performance and building capability across the site.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Overall leadership of manufacturing, logistics, warehousing and planning functions
2. Managing and developing teams across a multi-shift, high-volume operation
3. Leading continuous improvement activity across safety, quality, cost and delivery
4. Supporting cross-functional collaboration with commercial and engineering teams
5. Building a culture of ownership, accountability and operational excellence

We are looking for candidates with:

1. A strong operational leadership background within a manufacturing environment
2. Experience of running large-scale teams and complex site operations
3. A track record of delivering performance improvements and cost reduction
4. A hands-on, people-focused approach with the ability to lead from the front
5. Experience in packaging, container or plastics manufacturing would be highly desirable
